Donna's Crystal Wands
This page is for people who are interested in seeing the crystals wands I make. When I'm drawn to make a crystal wand it isn't for decorative or even conscious reasons. What I've repeatedly found is that this is another form of channelling for me - the wand evolves throughout the process without me knowing what it will look like and the purpose always seems to match the recipient's needs perfectly. So this is energy work.
Sometimes a guide will be around the wand during and after the wand-making process. I also write what comes to mind after making the wand and send that with the wand. Sometimes it will be about the process of making the wand, the stones included and any particular purposes I feel behind the wand and its use. If there is a guide connected with the wand then I might also channel a message for the recipient.
As I've said, each wand seems to evolve - sometimes I might get a glimpse of a theme before I start to make it but most of the time I start with the stick that is the main structure of the wand. I like to use natural sticks from our local gum trees. I use intuition to determine the length of the wand, which end is the main end, whether there will be a crystal at one or both ends and what other crystals might be included. Even the binding choices and colours are intuitive. I always find that the stones will have to be placed in particular ways and in particular numbers...even down to the individual crystals to be used. Sometimes I add feathers and they seem to compliment the energy well, plus continue the nature feel of all wands - being of the plant kingdom (the sticks), the mineral kingdom (the crystals and gemstones) and the animal kingdom (suede binding and feathers). Sometimes ocean elements will be added with the addition of shells etc.
Here are the wands I've made for myself and others, along with a little about each one. Many people say that they can feel the energy coming from these wands, even through the photos...
My First Wand

This wand was my first experience making a crystal wand. I suddenly had a very strong urge to create a wand for myself. It included a quartz point at each end, amazonite crystals down the wand and a black agate on the small fork for grounding. It felt very Native American to me and as such, I felt the presence of my guide Red Eagle around it. Unfortunately my young daughter got hold of the wand and pulled it all apart so I only have photos of it now.
"Amazonian Healing Wand"

This wand has a strong nature energy and healing energy for the recipient. After the wand was complete, I saw a small Amazonian woman in the forest and felt she was linked to this wand and its energies, so it's no wonder the wand has an Amazonian look! The wand has one main end with a clear quartz point and three green quartz crystals surrounded with wooden beads that make the crystals look like flowers.
"Communication Wand"
I focused in on the recipient before creating this wand and saw the colours I would use - blues, and felt the wand would be used for "higher communication". The same day I received a new selection of feathers and in them were some peacock plumage. I instantly knew that the blue peacock feathers were meant to be part of this wand and felt the peacock supports the communication theme because of the way it displays its gorgeous feathers to communicate to other birds. The end result was actually very Egyptian looking and even the type of stones were used in Ancient Egypt - turquoise, lapis lazuli and amethyst. The largest stone is white howlite and was intuitively added to assist calmness and connection with spirit. It's interesting how the stones go from smallest to largest - this wasn't intentional on my part as I simply placed each stone where it felt right to place it. The wand is wire wrapped and you'll notice from the photos that the two blue peacock feathers curve around the top of the wand, with a feather from a white peacock sitting behind.
"The Priestess"

This is a large wand based on soft pastel colours - the wand is gentle yet strong and feminine at the same time. As I started creating this wand I heard the word "Priestess" and indeed it turned out very much like a Priestess wand. There is a whole ring of rose quartz tumbles around the main end, plus rhodochrosite, hemimorphite, clear quartz, amazonite and amethyst. On the other end there is a piece of turquoise and three amethyst crystals lined up together. There is also an aquamarine crystal on the small fork of the branch. The soft pink feathers down the sides of the wand seem to bring it all together. It is more elaborate than any other I've done, e.g. the ring of rose quartz tumbles was almost by accident. I was intending to place a single crystal on the top, lined it up, but 'somehow' it ended up out of place and then I saw a ring of crystals right around but I fought it because I thought it would be too much. But, it had happened for a reason and forced me to create the full ring which turned out to be 'just right' for the wand.
Girl's Wand

This is a small wand I made for a young girl (apologies for the poor photo quality). I felt it was appropriate to place rose quartz tumblestones on each end because a child doesn't need the stronger energy of a quartz point. An amethyst sits on top of the main end and I had added one clear quartz tumble at the other end but it kept falling off until I realised in the end that it wasn't meant to be on the wand. So the recipient received this wand without the quartz and additional silver thread at the base end.
Masculine Wand

I was recently drawn to create a wand for my husband. All I knew is that it would include a tiger's eye crystal. This wand is quite solid and used my stockiest quartz point. The feathers came together first. At the top of the wand is a black tourmaline crystal and there's a hematite crystal in the centre. The long tiger's eye crystal sits at the side on a fork in the branch. It's a very earthy, healing and grounding wand and I love the natural difference in tones on the wood.
Order Enquiries
If you would like to find out about having a wand made please contact dthomson
peacefulwillow.com. As you can see, no two wands are the same as they are custom made according to my intuition and channelling what you are "meant" to receive. Don't forget that insight about the wand's purpose and use comes with the wand which will sometimes include channelled messages.
The type of wands I currently make are suitable for sending within Australia only, due to the use of branches which won't get through customs. Enquiries from overseas are welcome, however alternative materials will have to be used and obviously this will alter the look of the wand compared to those using natural sticks. If this isn't a concern and you would like one of these energetic wands custom made for you, please do get in touch.
Cost: At this stage, wands range from $40-$60 (AUD) plus postage. The cost depends on the size, detail and number of crystals used. It is hard to know in advance what sort of wand will be created but if you need to stick to a lower price bracket I can work to that. I look forward to hearing from you!
