Choosing the right psychic service can be a dilemma for people, especially if this is your first time. Choosing the right one can give you more information, better value and ultimately a much happier experience. This article offers a few tips to consider when shopping around for a psychic service.

1. Service

What type of service do you need?
Be clear on what it is you want. Do you want someone who adds numerology to your reading? Do you prefer a card reading or psychic ability only or perhaps a combination of these? No one service is better than another. It comes down to what you prefer.

You could also decide whether you would prefer to have your reading performed in person, via email or by phone. Phone and Email services can easily be located on the internet as well as in magazines. In-person services often advertise in your local area through avenues like classifieds, magazines and phone directories. The best way to find a quality psychic service is by word of mouth.

What type of psychic do you need?
Do you need a medium, a clairvoyant or someone who communicates with guides? Many people think that psychics can do all of these things, but this is not the case. Some can but most specialize in services that utilize their strongest talents.

Follow up service?
Do you prefer someone who is happy to clarify the information after the reading? If so, then you will be looking for a psychic who offers a follow-up service. This is not common but most psychics will be happy to explain something in the reading that you are unsure about. This is different to asking extra questions. That is initiating a second service that you will need to pay for.

If you're not sure about what service is best for you, then it's probably best to speak to some people before finding a service provider. Ask your friends. Also, don't be afraid to ask the psychics about their services and they can often shed some light on the subject to help you decide what will work best for you. What represents good value?
As with most things, you get what you pay for when you have a reading. Sometimes it's better to pay $100 for a seasoned professional who gives in-depth results than it is to have five $20 readings with less detail.

However, if you have only one major question to be answered, you may prefer to pay for a 1 question reading. Most psychics will be happy to do this for you.

If you have a whole bunch of questions, then you'd be opting for a full reading which is a set price for a lot of questions and is usually very good value. This is generally the better option if you have more than 3 questions to be answered.

Some things you may want to consider when looking at price:
Feedback - If the person has a lot of positive feedback then this is a good indication that they have a pretty good accuracy, especially if the feedback is received after some of the predictions have come true.

Time Limit - If the service has a limited time, find out how long. Phone readings can be as short as 5-15 minutes whereas a reading in person is generally around 30 mins to an hour long. Email readings are only limited by the person working on them at their discretion. Some choose to keep the time to an hour in line with in-person readings whereas some people prefer to work on the questions until they feel they have enough information.

Experience - Find out how long your prospective psychics have been performing this service for the public on a professional basis. The longer they have worked successfully in the industry the more experience they have and the better they know their business just the same as with any industry. For you, this usually means more information with more detail.

3. Personality

Choosing a psychic to suit you is the same as choosing a doctor to suit you. A psychic you feel comfortable with will give you the best results because when you are relaxed, your energy flows nicely allowing more details to come through. So this means that your psychic will have access to more information.

In the case of a service performed by a medium who is contacting your dearly departed, this may not be such an important factor, but check with them to make sure. In any case, it is always nicer to receive a service from somebody you feel more comfortable with.

Trust your instincts here. As all readings should be unbiased, there should be no fear of judgement from your reader. You may have several favourite psychics that you like to go to at different times depending upon how you feel at the time and this is fine. Don't feel disloyal. It is important that both you and the reader are happy to have the service performed and you can always return to the other reader when you feel you need to.

A psychic reading can be a wonderful way to get a little reassurance that things will be okay. They can also be fun and enlightening.
