"I was bushwalking in Wyperfeld National Park which is on the edge of a desert and became totally exhausted after 15km as I'd had surgery the week before. I rested against a log and when I opened my eyes I was ringed by a flock of emus and there were beautiful parrots everywhere. These wild birds showed absolutely no fear of me and I felt curious vibrations like I was being energised. I was able to continue my 10km walk back to my camp base feeling refreshed and with no sign of fatigue. I believe that the birds knew I was in trouble and came to help." - Glenda
"My honeymoon was the most magical two weeks of my life. We stayed at Port Douglas." - Cherie
"We found a fairy penguin on the beach and he was laying very lifeless. We took it home, put it into a shoe box and tried to give it some water with an eye dropper - had no idea what to do with it. We just kept putting water over it but realized he needed to go back to the water. Maybe it couldn't reach the water as the tide was out. After a couple of hours of just keeping it wet we took it back to the water, to our amazement he struggled but just swam off. It was good to see him swim off. We found him off the Beach at Jan Jac, Victoria, where there is no colony of Penguins so it was just a one off. We were delighted to see him swim off." - Merril
"I have precious memories of the misty mystical mountains of Portugese East Timor. The view from heaven to earth, the lush vegetation and the warmth and welcome of the Timorese villagers will remain forever imprinted on my heart." - Helen
"Richard (my now husband) and I had a weekend away to Warnambool to have some quality time together as he generally worked 7 days a week. On this weekend he had found the engagement ring for me in Warnambool and had to have the ring resized. We arranged to collect the ring months later and on our drive home on the Great Ocean Road, he stopped
at the beautiful Loch Ard Gorge, a place I never had visited or seen before. He got out of the car without saying a word and walked ahead to the edge of the cliff face to look out. I followed him out of the car just thinking that he was taking a break to look at the splendid scenery on the long drive back to Melbourne. As I approached him he turned to me with tears running down his face and said "Joan, would you do me the honour of being my wife", held my hand and placed the engagement ring on my finger, to which I promptly replied "YES" and we embraced. It was a splendidly emotional time at Loch Ard Gorge that will always hold a special place in my heart for sentimental reasons." - Joan & Richard
"When my son was 6 we took him to the beach. It was the first time he ever saw the ocean and a sand filled wonderland. The look on his face was precious and will never fade from my memories." - Mick
"I was on holiday in Italy and got lost as I was lagging behind my group in the art gallery in Florence. I ended up walking out another door, which wasn't the one the group took. I went along the street and I saw a nun so I followed her and ended up coming across a police man and police woman. I was told if I ever got lost to seek the help of the police. I ended up back with my group thank God." - Pauline
"I was proposed to quite unexpectedly in a canoe on a river. It was so romantic and unexpected, I couldn't wait to say YES." - Barbara
