Our Earth and Technology's Damage
by Ronnee Ruselle

When you hear people say that we are part of the 'whole' or part of the 'universe' or nature or whatever, they are speaking of how we, as a soul fit into nature. Our place as a spirit or a body of energy is part of one large body of energy that we call nature. If we took away the physical 'meat' around our body then we would be energy and we would still survive. Our long term body is not the physical one we see. It's the soul within.
Destroying Our Home
We need to get beyond our petty thoughts of ourself and all of the 'me me me' stuff and get on with being decent people. Each day we allow other people - usually business and government to make decisions for us that destroy the home we live in and in turn, destroy our future. These people are not tuned in. They do not feel the truth, they do not feel the energy. They worship money, greed, power. They are not unintelligent, but they are ignorant. They look away from the damage they do and say that it will not hurt the earth because it suits their selfish purpose to say so, but even they are not convinced of their own words. They simply take some momentary respite from guilt by believing that we still have time to save the planet and that all they have to do is to get by for another 10 or 20 years and it will no longer be their problem and they'll be okay. Let future generations deal with it.
Looking the Other Way
When you were a child, someone at some point would have done something to hurt you - whether it was as severe as abuse or as mild as a rebuke, but you remember it. It has affected you and will affect you for the rest of your life and to try and fix or remove the pain of it will take many years, maybe your whole life depending upon how badly it hurt you.
Is that pain taken away simply because the person who inflicted it told themselves that you'd be okay? Does their deliberate refusal to look at your pain mean that it never happened and that you will be okay? No, of course it doesn't. If they don't look at your pain and don't admit that they hurt you, does the pain stop immediately or does the damage remain regardless?
It is the same for the planet. We have destroyed it in so many ways that every single day, species are obliterated from the face of the earth. Plants and animals that we will never ever see again in the thousands each day - not thousands of animals, but thousands of species are being wiped from existence and it is us, we so-called superior beings, who are doing it. We are our own worst nightmare. We are the actors in our own horror about the planet being taken over and destroyed. We are doing it to ourselves. Our planet is the one we've caused the pain to. We have sucked it dry of nutrients, killed off billions of creatures that help to sustain the gentle balance that the Earth needs to survive. Does the pain we've caused our planet go away simply because we refuse to look at it? Does that instantly stop the damage? Does it reverse the damage? No. Just as with your own personal pain, it could take millions of years to heal the pain we've done to it in such a short time and we will be lucky if we survive it.
Taking Responsibility
We have only ourselves to blame, but do we take responsibility? No. Just as the abuser does not admit to the abuse, we do not admit to ours. We talk about it, but still governments put it as a minor issue and we allow them to. Is it enough to heal the planet? Well, as we look around and see the planet moving in discomfort and our weather patterns changing erratically, I'm guessing that it may even be too late. The best we can hope for is to work as hard as possible to stop the decline and then if we spend the rest of our existence as human beings making up for the pain, we can be lucky that the planet may forgive us for our arrogance and stupidity.
If the person who abused or hurt you apologized, that would at least be a start and then you could begin to work on being healed but they would need to stop doing it first. We have not apologized to the planet yet because we are still destroying it. At this very moment, the one thing that protects us, the trees are being destroyed - our last salvation are our jungles because they help to keep balance. They are being destroyed in the Amazon - our last hope for survival. It is happening now as you read this document. They're not being knocked down one at a time or by hand with saws. They are being bulldozed by the acre in a very short time.
Pollution destroys the air that we breathe. We no longer see our own skies clearly during the day due to pollution clouds and at night, we cannot see the stars due to the electricity that we light up our cities with.
Our waterways are destroyed because we re-route them to use for agriculture or companies pour their waste into the earth, we use the ocean as an outlet for our sewage and we fish the oceans dry of all of the beautiful and graceful creatures which make it special.
The Easy Life?
This is the joy that technology and laziness has brought us. Our technology, our businesses and our governments are raping the planet and we are standing by and watching it happen without taking action.
We have become so lazy that our children whine and complain about doing a simple chore that at one point in time was considered to be just a part of each day - part of survival. We are so lazy that we don't even talk anymore - we watch television, a box filled with radiation and expect that 'thing' that doesn't even live and breathe to be our friend. Do you know your neighbours? Do you know each person in your town and can you honestly say that you would be there for them if they needed you? Would you even be aware? There was a time when we could answer yes.
We close our eyes to what happens in other countries to souls who struggle each day while we fight to have that better car or better house. We are the 'me' generation. Technology has not been kind to us. It has made us lazy. If we had our way, many of us would do absolutely nothing all day and every day.
We reproduce and fill the planet like a plague and then we sit and do nothing. Our bodies start to disintegrate. We become obese and sick. Our answer instead of using the two legs we have is to take a pill, to fill our bodies with toxins or to be cut open. Using your legs seems like such a natural part of life and yet, I personally who do not own a car have been criticized and made fun of because I do not drive. This is a conscious choice that I made a long time ago so that I did not add pollution to an already polluted planet. Why am I seen as inferior? Because I do not do what you think is acceptable. Well I'm getting older now and need some form of transport to get around, but I'm proud rather than embarrassed that I was able to get around for this long without a vehicle.
Make a New Fashion Statement
This sort of mocking is the attitude that the guides speak of when they speak of their disgust for our arrogance in believing that we are better than nature and the other living inhabitants of our planet. Nature is not fashionable, but technology is. We are not the revered and wonderful beings we conned ourselves into believing. We can be though. We have the capacity for love and the capacity to connect with nature. Instead of surrounding ourselves with walls and disregarding nature, we need to connect with it again and get close to it - live in harmony with it and heal it.
We need to start growing our own food and fending for ourselves again like we once did before technology created supermarkets and tins. So what if it takes a little more effort to go somewhere by foot? Where are we rushing to? Why be in such a tremendous rush to kill ourselves? Why do we not listen to the very thing that can heal us - our planet and start to show love to ourselves, to each other and to our home?
