This article is part of our 'About' series where we asked practitioners of various healing modalities and therapies the same set of questions to give you some background information, features of the healing modality, health benefits and what you might expect from a session with this type of practitioner.

1. What type of healing modality or therapy do you practice and how would you summarize it?

Neuro Integration is a healing technique that is gentle and non-invasive. The work is based out of several different healing modalities including Applied Kinesiology. The work allows a person to re-pattern the nervous system around a stressor, be it a physical, emotional, mental, or even spiritual issue.

2. Why did you decide to become a practitioner in this field and what do you enjoy most about it?

I came to this field of my own accord and design. I enjoy helping a person overcome a multitude of problems in a short period of time, which allows them better access to their freedom. I had a client tell me once that she had overcome more issues in a single session than she had in ten years of psychotherapy. That is very powerful.

3. What is the history or foundation of this therapy/healing modality?

I have studied with many renowned natural doctors and healers; this work is a compilation of all the techniques I have learned in 40 years of practice. This healing came from necessity after having a child with cerebral palsy, the death of my oldest daughter and the physical, mental, & sexual abuse of my youngest daughter...I had to find a way to heal my children and myself without creating more traumas.

4. What are the key features and components of this form of therapy/healing modality?

5. Does this therapy/healing modality cater to the physical body, mind, emotions, spirit, or a combination of these?

It works to heal all levels of mind, body, & spirit. It can...

6. When should someone visit this type of practitioner?

Ask yourself these questions:

7. What can someone expect from a session?

Generally, a client identifies a complaint or issue they would like to clear. By clarifying the issue before the integration, the pathways in the nervous system are stimulated or fired. This then leads the practitioner to the specific integration that will address that particular set of pathways.

During an N-I session the client lies fully clothed on their back on a massage table. Kinesiology is used to guide the process. Light touch is applied on a series of points on the body, similar to acupressure. As a point is touched, a hand is held in a designated pattern to fire a particular pathway to the brain. The arm is pulled to create firing. The feet are moved to lock in the new pathway.

A session can be completed in as little as an hour depending on the client's needs.

8. What are the most common outcomes for clients?

Everyone is different; some people feel something in the integration. Others may be a few weeks or months down the road when confronted with a situation where they notice that they did not react the way they would have before the integration.

9. Can you share some success stories from this form of therapy/healing modality?
